Our Mission

Reading Quran.jpg

The mission of Project Roshd is to create an exemplary community through supporting and organizing the local American-shia families in an environment where children and youth can anchor, grow, and thrive while staying connected to their heritage.

At Project Roshd, their identity, experiences and values remain true to the teachings of Ahl- al Bait, to ensure the continuity and vibrancy of a progressive Shia muslim society.

We accomplish our mission by promotion of hand picked values that our multi-faceted American, Persian/Arab and Muslim backgrounds have to offer.

We organize an array of stimulating and quality based educational, social, and cultural programs and services that uniquely caters to San Diego’s proud Farsi (and Arabic) speaking Shia families.

Roshd Committee

The vision of building an exemplary American-Shia community and a believe in the infinite merci of Allah, gave birth to Project Roshd. It started in a livingroom  where three couples were sipping on tea and reminacing about the future of their young children. By the grace of Allah, and the support of many others in the San Diego community, Project Roshd has celebrated service to many children beyong those in the livingroom. The three couples remain as volunteer organizers and take cares.
